Scissor Lift Service Oak Lawn: Local scissor lift service, about 25 miles away
We’re about 25 miles from Oak Lawn in Addison — close enough for reliable pickup and return without the drive-time surcharge a shop across the metro adds on. We pick up from warehouses, contractors, and facility crews across Advocate Christ Medical Center, the 95th Street commercial corridor, and the surrounding medical and retail district. As a family-owned shop — not a national rental chain — an outside machine you didn’t buy or rent from us doesn’t go to the back of the line. It gets fixed right, priced fair, and returned quickly.

When to call for scissor lift service in Oak Lawn
Most scissor lift problems give warning signs before the machine stops working. Book a service visit if you notice any of these:
- The platform lifts slower than it used to, or stalls near full height.
- Hydraulic oil under the machine or on the lift cylinder.
- Drift: the raised platform slowly creeps down on its own.
- Batteries that no longer last a full shift, or take much longer to charge.
- A fault code or flashing light on the controller.
- Grinding, squealing or clunking from the pump, wheels or scissor pins.
- The tilt alarm sounding on a level floor.
What to have ready when you call
A few details help us quote accurately and bring the right parts the first time:
- Make, model and serial number, found on the plate near the ground controls.
- The hour meter reading.
- Any fault code showing on the display.
- When the problem started and exactly what the lift does.
- Where the lift is, and whether it can be driven onto a trailer.
Annual ANSI/OSHA inspections are $225 at our Addison, IL shop. Repairs are billed at $150/hr; call 773-790-7299 to get on the schedule.
Regular service also protects resale value. A lift with a documented inspection history, clean hydraulics and healthy batteries is worth noticeably more when it is time to trade it in or sell it.
Shop or on-site?
If the lift can travel, bringing it to our Addison shop is usually the quickest and lowest-cost option, because every tool and the most common parts are right there. When a lift is in use on a job, or you have several machines in one building, an on-site visit keeps them where they are and saves the trailer time.
- Photos or a short video of the problem, if you can take them safely.
- The best contact on site and when to reach them.
Which scissor lift size do you need?
Match the lift to your ceiling and your narrowest doorway. Working height is roughly platform height plus 6 ft.
- 19 ft (Genie GS-1930, Skyjack SJIII3219): 25 ft working height, 30–32 in wide, so it rolls through a standard doorway. Good for ceilings, lighting and retail fit-outs.
- 26 ft (Genie GS-2632/GS-2646, Skyjack SJIII3226/SJIII4626): 32 ft working height in a 32 in or 46 in chassis. Warehouses, gyms, sprinkler and HVAC work.
- 32 ft (Genie GS-3232/GS-3246, Skyjack SJIII4632): 38 ft working height for high-bay warehouses and big-box stores.
- 40 ft (Genie GS-4047, Skyjack SJIII4740): 45 ft working height, 47 in wide, for tall distribution centers and atriums.
Not sure? Send us the ceiling height and the narrowest opening the lift has to pass through in Oak Lawn, and we will match the machine for you.
