The 26 ft narrow-deck class is where retail buildouts and tight-aisle warehouse work get done. Two machines dominate it: the Genie GS-2632 and the Skyjack SJIII3226. Both are 32-inch wide, 26 ft platform, 32 ft working height, 500 lb capacity. Same drive, same battery system, same general work envelope.

We refurbish both. Here’s how to pick.

What 26 ft narrow-deck is good for

The narrow-deck 26 ft is the “right tool” for these scenarios:

If you’re loading meaningful materials onto the platform (heavy signs, conduit reels, multiple workers), step up to the wide-deck variants — the GS-2646 or SJIII4626. Same height, 1,000 lb capacity instead of 500.

Real-world: common service items

GS-2632: function-switch wear, battery cable corrosion at terminals, occasional pivot pin bushing wear on older units. Genie pivot pin replacement is a known maintenance item.

SJIII3226: drive motor brushes on high-hour units, hydraulic cylinder seal weep on 2008–2012 units, occasional charger relay aging.

Both platforms have widely available aftermarket and dealer parts. Neither has a long-term parts-availability concern.

Refurbished or new?

Both refurb units come with new batteries, new tires, new charger, rebuilt control box, full ANSI/OSHA inspection, and a full repaint to factory-fresh. The reliability gap to brand-new is small. The cost gap is roughly $20,000+.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GS-2632 still in production?
Yes — Genie still builds the GS-2632 (currently in the E-Drive series). The refurbished units we sell are 5–6.5 generation units, mostly from 2014–2018.

Is the SJIII3226 still in production?
Skyjack has succeeded the SJIII series with the SJ3220/26 E in current production. The legacy SJIII3226s are well-understood with widely available parts.

Can I rent either one first?
Yes. 26 ft rentals are $190/day from our Chicagoland yard. Rent before you commit if you’re between brands. 26 ft rental details.

Will either one fit through a standard 8 ft service door?
The Skyjack at 7 ft 2 in stowed clears most 8 ft doors with margin. The Genie at 7 ft 4 in is closer — measure your specific door before buying.

What’s the warranty after refurbishment?
We back our refurbishment work with a service guarantee on rebuilt components. Same on both machines.

How long until you can deliver?
1–2 weeks for ready-to-ship; 3 weeks from payment if we’re refurbishing.

Are parts interchangeable?
No — different platforms. But aftermarket parts for both are widely available.
